Town’s run of victories was halted at three as goals from Jerome Thomas and Paul Green saw Leeds to a 2-0 win at Elland Road. The home side had the better of the first half with Thomas’s backheel giving them the lead at the break. The Blues dominated possession for much of the second period but were unable to get on terms before Green added the second. |

Town boss Mick McCarthy is unlikely to change his starting line-up for Saturday’s visit to Leeds despite midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker having recovered from his hamstring injury. The Blues manager is still without Luke Hyam, who is over his calf problem, but is ill, while striker Tyrone Barnett has returned to Peterborough after suffering a posterior cruciate ligament injury in Monday’s reserves friendly. |

Town travelled to Doncaster this afternoon for their final game of the season without former skipper Grant Leadbitter, who has decided not to remain at Portman Road after his contract is up at the end of the season. The Blues were already short of midfielders for their lunchtime clash with relegated Rovers (KO 12.30pm) with Luke Hyam injured, Lee Bowyer released and Lee Martin and Ryan Stevenson both having missed training due to injuries this week. Youngsters Byron Lawrence and Joe Whight have both made the trip. |
